On March 25, second-year graduate student Braven Lyall gave an oral presentation at the 2022 Annual Meeting of the Georgia Academy of Science held at Valdosta State University. The next day, Braven was one of 10 students across all disciplines which includes physics, astronomy, chemistry, biology, mathematics, and engineering, to receive a merit-based award from the Academy. Braven’s research focuses on high-velocity stars, including the exciting possibility that they may host planets. Braven is advised by Drs. Idan Ginsburg and Sebastien Lepine.
